Doctor of Audiology

Dr. McDermott earned both his bachelor’s degree in health sciences and master’s degree in audiology from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. He earned his Doctor of Audiology degree from Salus University in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. After completing his residency in Grand Junction, Colorado, he made the Western Slope home and has now practiced hearing healthcare for more than two decades.
Dr. McDermott is dedicated to helping patients of all ages improve their hearing, balance and overall quality of life. His clinical interests include adult and pediatric diagnostic audiology, hearing aids, cochlear implants, bone-anchored hearing systems (BAHA), vestibular and balance assessment, tinnitus evaluation and management, aural rehabilitation and custom hearing protection. He enjoys partnering with patients to develop practical, individualized solutions that help them stay connected to the people and activities that matter most.
Outside the office, Dr. McDermott enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children and can often be found cheering them on at baseball, softball, swimming and their many other activities. When he’s not at the ballfield or pool, you’ll often find him outdoors, following sports or in the kitchen—where he likes to think he’s become something of a home chef.
